If You're Lucky

If You're Lucky

"If you're lucky, there are people in your life who are willing to listen to you talk in circles about the same bullshit for like eleven years and still choose to hang out with you."
"I am very lucky. Thank you."

I shared a meme on "insert social media here" with the guys on the Dad Time Out Show this morning. The meme perfectly summed up our relationships and discourse over the last three to four years. One of the dads on the show is someone I've known for eleven years, so the irony wasn't lost on me, even though the other two dads still have seven years to catch up. However, the last part of the meme was my favorite. It said, "I am very lucky. Thank you."
I am fortunate to have fathers to confide in, all of whom love their families unconditionally. It's a privilege that our discussions provoke conversations about our differences, yet we still remain friends. Additionally, I feel grateful that I have the opportunity to host a podcast that is ongoing.

I sent it over after we recorded it last night, and I realized we had probably visited the topics we had on the podcast before.
As we've always stated, we have kids of varying ages, so in fact, as we all go through the evolution of parenting, we also regurgitate the ever-changing topics and landscapes that parenting brings us.

After all, you never stop parenting once the journey begins.
As the times change, so do the challenges, but hopefully not these friends.
